Basically you must have skills or experience of doing something in a professional way; because that is the base rock of your branding. If you don't, you should go and learn a new skill you'd prefer, understand it very well, and practice more and more in it.
After building your skills and experience, you have to build relationships with people whose might interest in skills or experience you have. Those people are audience you should target, so you have to build a communication link with them through different social channels like: facebook, twitter, linkedin, youtube, etc.
3- Study your target audience
Building relationships with your target audience isn't enough, studying your target audience is the most important thing came after building your skills. Target audience study means that you learn about all issues related to them, that include: problems they have and which stage they pass on their journey (buyer's journey) - I'll discuss it later in separated post- and study about their needs, all these issues you have to be aware of it.
4- Discuss problem and Provide solution
After completing your study on your target audience, you'll be able to choose the problem they have that relates to your skills, then write about it and make discussion with them about it, then analyze it. Is that enough? the answer is no, you can provide solutions to these problems using skills or experience you have.
5- Build a strong portfolio
Finally, use your projects to build your own portfolio and keep it always up to date. Remember, the more strong portfolio you have the more trust you gain.
